Robin Selvig
Coach Robin Selvig was born in Outlook, Montana on August 21, 1952. Selvig was a Griz Basketball Player from 1970 to 1974, before he took his first coaching job at Plentywood High School, coaching women's basketball from 1975 to 1978. Selvig shortly thereafter accepted a position as head coach of UM’s women's basketball team, “the Lady Griz” in 1978. Selvig quickly established himself as a capable and inspirational coach, and was inducted into the University of Montana Grizzly Sports Hall of Fame in 2001, and inducted into the Montana Indian Hall of Fame in 2008. Selvig retired after 38 seasons coaching the Lady Griz in 2016. Selvig is one of the winningest coaches in women’s basketball, ranked 8th among all NCAA women's basketball coaches with 865 wins at the time of his retirement. Selvig was also inducted into the Big Sky Conference Hall of Fame in 2020.
