Audrey Smith was born in Seattle in 2002 and was born hearing impaired but wasn’t fully diagnosed until elementary school. Smith moved to Boise, Idaho, in 6th grade and received her first hearing aids in middle school. Smith pursued multiple sports in middle and high school, and her senior year she had surgery to get a cochlear implant. Smith was recruited by the UM track team in 2021 to run the 100m and the 200m relay.
